Collaboration and co-supervision

Applying is quicker through the application form, which asks the things we would otherwise have to email you about. Everything here is read by a person, usually within a few business days.

1If you write, include

  1. 1.Who you are. Name, school, year, and roughly where in the world you are.
  2. 2.What you want to work on. The area, and the topics inside it that actually interest you. Specific beats broad.
  3. 3.Your real availability. The hours you can still give in week nine, not the hours you can give this week.
  4. 4.One question. Something you would genuinely want to investigate. It does not need to be feasible, or even answerable.

Schools and labs: skip the list and tell us what you would bring, whether that is data, questions, co-supervision, or students of your own, and how much time you can put behind it.

2Questions we get

Is it really free?
Yes. No application fee, no program fee, and we do not sell anything to families later on.
I am in college, not high school. Can I apply?
Yes. Placements are open to undergraduates as well, and the cycle runs the same way. Say where you are in school and we place you accordingly.
Do I need experience?
No. About half of accepted students arrive with none. Say so in the application and we will place you accordingly.
Will I get published?
Possibly. Most cycles end in a complete internal writeup, and some go to a poster, abstract, or workshop paper when the work carries one. We do not promise it, and any program that does is worth a second look.
How long is the wait?
About two weeks for an application. Other questions get answered in a few business days.
Can I apply from outside the US?
Yes. Everything runs remotely and check-ins are scheduled around your time zone.
I was declined. Can I reapply?
Yes, and people do. Most declines are about capacity in that cycle rather than about the applicant.
Can my school or lab work with you?
Possibly. Write to the research address with what you have in mind and how much time you can put into it.
